This Second Growth. Deuxieme Grand Cru Classe in 1855. Has a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 60-70% and Merlot 20-30% with Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.  A wonderful example of the great 2009 vintage. Wines from this vintage are faster ready to drink thank the world famous 2005 and 2010 vintages. It has a wonderful depth, silkyness. The mouthfeel is majestic. Notes of cedar and cassis. The tannic structure is deep and refined with a finish that scream have another glass. A delight.

The nose initiated with wonderful red fruit. Intesive note of secondary aromas and a complex bouquet with rasberries. This fantastic wine is from the Madonna del Piano has a wonderful depth and complexity finshes long and with sophistication a true delight. The wine is in slowenian bariques for 24 - 36 months depending the vintage and is then ripened for another 2 years in the bottle.

Jumping down under with an amazing (understatement) bottle of Penfolds Grange 2005. A nose of vanilla with raspberries, cassis, spice, black pepper and beef. Wonderful majestic tannins. Unfolds slowly. Deep dark velvet mouth feel. Concentrated red fruit that guides you down under. Paired with Steak and steak tartare.
